Joan Kay MA, LPC
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults overcome a variety of life challenges in a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment. I have successfully helped individuals work through a multitude of issues and challenges including depression, anxiety, sexuality, trauma, relationships, parenting, social skills, and self-discovery. Rather than using a “psychological band aid,” I will help you find the underlying source of your challenges and help you effectively resolve the residual negative issues that you want to change. I use an eclectic, creative, and solution-focused approach to find solutions that are right for you. I apply philosophies and techniques from a variety of theories including CBT, DBT, EMDR, Flash, and Adlerian.
In Mediation, I use my experience and training in therapy to successfully help those going through divorce with minor children. I affordably, quickly, and objectively put together a parenting plan that works for each family's individual needs. This niche mediation focusing solely on the most important and stressful portion of divorce with children. I help and guide parents in developing a parenting plan that takes into consideration what is best for their children in an amicable environment.
